M62 J19: Heywood Interchange is where the A6046 and A6184 meet the motorway, with Queen Elizabeth Way and Middleton Road close by. Directly south of the junction is largely farmland and rural, while directly north are the residential areas of Heywood and Hopwood.
Heywood station is about a mile north, and Siddal Moor and Lane End also lie beside the junction. Moto Birch Services sits about a mile south-west. The Highfield Hospital is about two and a half miles north-east and the Crown Oil Arena about three and a half miles north.
Simister Interchange (J18) is about three miles south-west, and Thornham Interchange (J20) about two miles east.
