M62 Junction 29: Lofthouse interchange (M1 J42)
M62 J29: Lofthouse Interchange is where the M62 meets the M1. It is a very symmetrical junction: a circular ring road with the slip roads curving smoothly in and out, plus a number of extra link roads. Heading north, a short stretch of the M1 runs towards Leeds, meeting the M621 into the city centre. Heading south, the M1 runs towards Wakefield and then Barnsley.
Lofthouse, Robin Hood and Thorpe-on-the-Hill are beside the junction, and Rothwell is about two miles north-east. Outwood station is about a mile south, Middleton District Shopping Centre about a mile and a half north-west, and Fieldhead Hospital about two and a half miles south.
Tingley Roundabout (J28) and Rothwell Interchange (J30) are each about two and a half miles away, west and east.
